A cooperative that builds a network of people-powered initiatives
The Interior Cooperative Initiative is a multi-stakeholder community service cooperative that is dedicated to building an economy and community around people. Our cooperative will make, create, and support cooperatives so the people in the Interior of British Columbia can live a fair and equitable existence.

Growth & Sustainability
We nurture ideas, people, and the planet. By cultivating sustainable practices and supporting local growth, we create a thriving future for our communities.

Care & Well-Being
Our work is rooted in compassion. We prioritize people’s well-being, building a culture of care where everyone feels valued, safe, and supported.

Collaboration & Solidarity
Together, we are stronger. We embrace diversity, foster trust, and work side-by-side to achieve shared goals and create lasting change.

Innovation & Action
We turn ideas into action. Through creative thinking and practical solutions, we tackle challenges and open new pathways for community resilience.

A passionate community of cooperative members dedicated to working together for the well-being of people and the planet.
With a collective commitment to the well-being of communities, the Interior Cooperative Initiative unites people who share a common goal: building a fair, sustainable, and people-first economy where everyone can thrive.
Our values
We are building a network of collective and community care and advocating for marginalized folks to foster liberatory power. We will accomplish this because our foundation is a strong democracy and dynamic governance in Sociocracy. We want bottom-up decision making so all our members have a voice to create the equitable and fair existence in our communities.
Work with us
Workers deserve a living wage to afford to live in their communities. They also deserve to control their fruits of labour. That is why we are creating worker cooperatives so they have full control of their labour and wages. If you want to pitch ideas for creating new worker cooperatives or their is an opportunity to collective take over a business, reach out to us!
Our Cooperatives
By our community, For our community
Our cooperatives strive to build, create, and support an economy and community around people. Communities deserve services so they can live a fair and equitable existence. That is why our cooperatives are Community Service Cooperatives. They are non-profits with a focus on providing services to their communities.
Here are the cooperatives that we are currently building (and more to come in the future!):
